Amazon.com Review Protect your hands from hot pot handles with this slip-on handle mitt. From Lodge, maker of rugged cast-iron cookware, the mitt features heavy-duty Pyrotex fabric on the exterior, along with a scorch-proof coating. Inside, a thick terry lining feels comfortable against the skin, and thick cotton batting between the two layers adds further heat and steam protection. Heat-resistant up to 450 degrees F, the Max Temp mitt fits over stainless or cast-iron handles, indoors or at the barbecue, and comes in basic black to match any décor. --Ann Bieri

Works as advertised July 12, 2010 Rodger Manecke (Cinebar, WA USA) After a few weeks of daily use with cast iron skilets, I decided the handle mitt is a keeper. Handier than reaching for a pot holder. I leave it on the pan all the time using a glass top electric stove.
Nice July 3, 2010 ARiggs We use cast-iron skillets (Lodge, of course) all the time. These are great at avoiding the burning handle.
Works, but not the best ever June 21, 2010 J. M. Cavalieri (Mebane, NC United States) Works for about 15 seconds, then the heat starts coming through. I found it sufficient to maneuver the skillet around on the stove (and only if you put it on the handle just before maneuvering), but pot-holders are still required if you intend on long term contact with the handle. It is also sufficient for removing the skillet from the oven, as long as you're just putting the skillet on the stove-top.
It does what it's supposed to do. What more can i say? =) June 14, 2010 K. McMillan (California) Its a tiny oven mitt to keep you from burning yourself or having to deal with over-sized mitts while cooking with a cast iron skillet. Works great. Nice to have since we use the skillet so much.
Works Well April 14, 2010 Ross A. Smith (Fayetteville, AR USA) This mitt works well, but if you are cooking something at a high temperature ( > 400 degrees F, or so), the heat can penetrate the material.
