This knob should be standard on ALL LeCreuset cookware. It doesn't make sense to have cast iron that is capable of taking 500 degree heat with a plastic knob that can't.

This handle allows the use of the entire LeCreuset pot and cover to be used in a very hot oeven. It works perfectly.

the rubber knob is just the worst design for a wonderful pot. Why this company thought they should sell a rubber handle that cannot by their own product information handle more than 375 degree oven temp is beyond me. The metal knob fit perfectly and the screw used to tighten it to the lid was the correct size and worked great. (other reviews of this know replacement had problems with the screw)

The knob that came with the pot that I had purchased could not be used in the oven with temperatures over 400 degrees, but with this knob I can use temperatures of up to 500 degrees so I can bake bread etc.
