Product Description
Endorsed by none other than the legendary French chef Paul Bocuse (the only restaurateur in the world to be awarded the prestigious Michelin 3 Stars for over 36 consecutive years), Cuisinart's Chef's Classic stainless cookware is high quality, yet affordable. Unlike many lines of cookware, it can go in the dishwasher for clean up, yet the aluminum core within the base provides even and efficient heating. If you've been thinking of investing in a new set of pots and pans, you'd do well to consider Cuisinart Chef's Classic. This set offers pieces in a useful range of size and function, and with the added value of set pricing.

Amazon.com Review
Sautéing wild salmon and stirring a perfect risotto take on spiritual dimensions with this classic Cuisinart cookware. Made of professional quality 18/10 stainless steel that won't react with acidic foods, the pots and pans in this set feature solid cast handles, tight-fitting lids with drip-free rims, and a mirror finish that retains its brightness through dishwasher, freezer, broiler, and oven use up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. For superior, even heating, an aluminum disk is encapsulated between two layers of stainless steel in each base. The set includes: 8- and 10-inch skillets, 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepans, 3-1/2-quart covered sauté pan, and a 8-quart covered stockpot. Cuisinart covers the set with a limited lifetime warranty. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Cookware Set - What a great DEAL!!!   July 28, 2010
Todd Smucker (Ohio)
I just received this cookware set in the mail yesterday. I LOVE IT! I just made scrambled eggs this morning and NOTHING stuck to the pan. I used Crisco canola oil non stick spray and let it sit in the pan in the last couple minutes while it preheated. I think any complaints about food sticking is probably because they didn't use enough non stick spray. I imagine some things will stick at some point because they are NOT non stick pans. And the handles on mine did NOT get hot. I could see them getting a little warm if I had been cooking on a high temperature, but at a medium setting, they were not even warm.

One thing I did not know when I bought these is that they have metal lids. I thought they were glass. It doesn't say on the add whether they were metal or glass and I just assumed glass, so I was kind of surprised when they arrived. But after trying them I think the lids will be great.

I like that the pans are not light weight but they are not really heavy either.

I think these pans are an awesome deal for anyone who wants a nice everyday set to cook on.

5 out of 5 stars They work great, but they discolor immediately   July 25, 2010
Steven Buss (Seattle, WA)
I really like these, but as soon as you cook something with them, they get discolored. If you're going to be putting these on display, you might consider a different product, but if you just want a set that works really well, then you'd be perfectly happy with these.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   July 12, 2010

I received this set as a Christmas gift and absolutely love it! I do not put it in the dishwasher. It takes very little time to hand wash it. I use a stainless steel scrubber from Fuller Brush. They are still shiny and beautiful. They cook evenly and the pots stay very hot long after you've taken them off the burner. Which I love when you're serving soups or sauces.

5 out of 5 stars Great stainless steel small set w/ reasonable price   July 3, 2010

I shopped for 8 weeks, went to various stores and handled various brands. Some sets this size were very expensive $300+. My budget was $80-150, but I did not want cheap stuff. When this went on sale, I grabbed it. Cuisinart is a good, dependable brand. I liked the set right out of the box. These pans do everything that the non-stick pans do, without the toxins & aged breakdown of coating in those Teflon and Teflon-like pans. The trick to using stainless steel is to use a low flame. The bottom of the pans have a good weight. The handles are good and seem not to heat up very much...they do not stay "cool" yet don't get as hot as the pan. With stainless steel you must use a low flame, much lower than usual. I got used to it. Cleanup is easy with immediately putting the pan in the sink, fill with water and a squirt of dish soap. Soak a few minutes, easy-peasy sponge clean. Sometimes I use a plastic scrubber, but hardly necessary. I can use silicon implements or metal or wood. I use Pam spray on the saute pans sometimes when cooking. I fry eggs easily in these pans. The pots are a good size. This is a good, basic starter set, and especially for someone who wants to start a cooking hobby. This Cuisinart set was a good deal.
