It does exactly what you would expect a tamper to do... which i guess makes it at least 3-4 stars and you figure the price is good make that at least 4-5 stars. I've been very happy with it and it was a good choice since my Bar32 does not have a detachable tamper. For 8 bucks you really can't go wrong here.

Not sure if Terry has ever been a barista, even though Terry's Tamper lays it's claim to have been devolped by Baristas. As a Barista, I would have to rank the tamper at a "D". Here are the issues:
1.It does not quite fit the machine Amazone recomends for it.
2. It is not very heavy and seems to be made cheaply from a mold(?)
If the tamper was used with a bigger machine it may fit. In regards of weight... maybe it is personal preference but the tamper does not carry a good amount of weight.

Nice tamper, works well. Having it double sided gives you a nice, flat surface to apply pressure with, making it easier to tamp evenly and comfortably. Looks nice + works well + comfortable to use = good tamper.

Works fine for the price. Surprised by how light it is considering it is a solid chunk of aluminum. Would have prefer SS if I can find one that's reasonablly priced.

Solid, good looking, well constructed, inexpensive. I bought this to use with my Breville 800ESXL which uses a smaller than normal portafilter. It works great, and will still be usable when I upgrade to a bigger machine.
