Yummy! August 27, 2010 T. Maloney (Connecticut) I really LOVE this coffee maker. The coffee is delicious! The only complaint I have is that you have to use the carafe to fill the water or else you will have no idea how many cups you are brewing as the way they have it set up the numbers on the inside do not match the cups on the carafe. Unfortunately mine did not come with instructions so maybe there is an explanation of this that I am unaware of. But, it was so easy to use I really did not need instructions. I have set the time and used the timer function as well all without directions!
works great for 1 year August 24, 2010 daniel kroes This coffee maker makes great coffee!! unfortunately it has a short life. I bought one for the house, it lasted 1 year. But we also bought one for work it lasted 2 years. Both times the single part that killed them was a part called a thermodisk. This part turns the heater on and off by temperature. when it breaks everything turns on except the heating element. Guess what no heat = no coffee. The part is not available and DeLonghi won't sell it.
I give this machine a 5 on great coffee. But I give it a 1 on longevity.
Horrible Company, Horrible Coffee Maker August 11, 2010 M. M. Weiner (Wisconsin) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did not buy this on Amazon but last year we did purchase this particular coffee maker. My husband and I were so excited to see a 14 cup maker and thought this company would be reputable and we were tired of "throw away" coffee makers so we bought it.
It totally died after just one month, nothing, no lights etc just dead. I called the customer service # since it was still under warrenty and spent the next week either on hold, a recording telling me to leave my # so they could call me back or getting disconnected all together since after awhile this company just drops your call if they are too busy.
After getting ahold of someone they told me to cut the plug off the maker, send it in with TEN DOLLARS to cover the cost of shipping out the new one and I did it...don't ask me why. Well a month later the new replacement arrives and 3 months later it turned on but refused to brew!
If you enjoy a crappy coffee maker and the horrible hassle of getting a replacement from a company that doesn't care at all (and has lost customers for a lifetime) then please go ahead and buy it.
If not then please get something else. We got a cheapie from Walmart that has outlasted both of these monsters.
Good coffee, poor on/off features August 2, 2010 clare cooper (louisville, ky United States) This coffee maker makes a good cup of coffee, but the on/off button light is so tiny that it is hard to see if the coffee pot has been turned off which could lead to it being left on inadvertently. I can't find anything in the literature which says that it will turn itself off after a certain period of time, but as the handbook is also the handbook for a different model it is hard to find the information which relates to the model I purchased.
short life span July 29, 2010 J. Greene (Eustis FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This maker made great coffee but after about 8 months it died. Sent it back to company and they sent me a new one but again after 8 months it just stopped brewing.
