Horrible product June 16, 2010 ZIGNEMA (NJ, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my husband since he likes expresso coffee a lot. It sucks it drips all the time, and most of the coffee ends us in the bottom, and it does not taste that good. The only thing it has going for is that is small and sleek. Do not buy it if you want a good thing, buy the older version
Good, but does not seal completely June 12, 2010 Darren E. Gemoets (Laramie, WY) Works as promised. Fairly well made, but does let steam out between the bottom and top pieces. Maybe it just needs a new gasket.
I'd buy it again.
4 cup size too small June 1, 2010 Jay B Bee 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The 6 cup was unavailable the day I ordered and I wish I would have waited because even with a bunch of steamed milk, there is really only about one tall coffee cup full. Which is fine for one person, but there are two of us and I always have to make another pot right away. I've used the cast aluminum ones and the stainless is much nicer by far.

Pros - Stainless steel, as promised, so I don't have to worry about getting Alzheimer's from Aluminum oxide (most of the other stovetop espresso makers are made of aluminum)
Con - The coffee I make with this machine is not as strong (by quite a bit) as the one from the Aluminum stovetop espresso maker.
not built to last May 4, 2010 Viola 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned several stove top espresso makers, and this one made decent espresso. I think this was my second or third Bialetti. It was fairly quick, relative to another larger one I own, but in the end the steel on the bottom cracked and water started spewing out all over the place rather than syphoning up to the top for coffee. I think the steel also thinned out, because the whole base seemed to get hotter than it used to and would shoot heat up the side and burn it into a whitish color. The design is functional - the knob on top doesn't get hot, the rubber ring didn't flake out like the Venus one I had, and the tilted handle doesn't sit over the flame like on some others, but in its last days this too got really hot. So while it's cheaper than some others, mine didn't last as a long term investment. I'm scaling up to another one. Hopefully that'll last longer than this one, which only lasted like 5 years.
