4 out of 5 stars Good for the design purpose, but not for general use   August 28, 2010
Andrew Gainer (Boston, MA USA)
As other reviewers have noted, these are meant to chill whiskey stored at room temperature only slightly, to help suppress the ethanol aroma and make the drink smoother and more pleasant. If you often drink whiskey straight, you'll probably appreciate this effect; if you drink your whiskey on the rocks or in mixed drinks, these probably won't do anything for you.
I will say, however, that the effect is just as useful on other sipping liquors; I've used these with vodkas, gins, and tequilas with success. Just don't expect them to be ice cubes; if you want your drink freezing cold, put it in the freezer.

High Life SUCKS

Do not order from this seller. You will NEVER receive the product and they will claim to have shipped it to you several times. Again, DO NOT ORDER FROM HIGH LIGE DESIGN.

1 out of 5 stars Great idea, but that's about it   August 16, 2010

I got these for my husband and he was excited to try them, as he likes bourbon on the rocks but doesn't like to have good whiskey ruined by melting ice. Unfourtunately, they DO NOT WORK. Even after 3 days in the freezer, to say they even provided a "slight chill" would be a gross overstatement. They made room temperature bourbon maybe one degree cooler at best. I thought these were a really cool idea, had plans to buy them as gifts... not anymore. The idea of them is the best thing about them. It's all downhill from there.

1 out of 5 stars Sorry, just another way for people to think they are special   August 12, 2010

and a way for more useless gadgets to be sold. I have been a whiskey connoisseur for a while now, and if you want a slight chill without dilution, all you need to do is use a heavy bottomed glass that is kept in the freezer (or refrigerator depending on your taste) There are also MANY reusable ice cubes that do a much better job than these stones. Sorry overpriced gimmick for people who need to feel a little smarter and more urbane or sophisticated than the rest of us. Just my .02 ;-)

5 out of 5 stars Ice, hold the water   August 10, 2010
JB
For a good whiskey, this provides a little chill without any more water than is desired. As soon as I saw it (actually at a local museum), I had to have it. If you are looking for ice cold whiskey, this is not the product for you -- and keep away from my good stuff!
